Adobe Photoshop CS2
Spring 2007
This poster was an experiment in typography in Adobe Photoshop. During my travels in London, England, I uttered the phrase “it’s all downhill from here.” In the United States, we associate the phrase with the decline of difficulty in life and a relative state of relaxation. However, the person I was speaking with had a different interpretation of the phrase; they understood it as a decline in everything positive in life. As a result, I chose to explore the duality of this phrase. The positive interpretation of this phrase can be seen in the bright, positive orange and red section of this poster, while the negative interpretation can be seen in the gray section in an attempt to add some yang to the yin.
