Control Arms

This is part of a campaign to raise awareness towards Amnesty International’s Control Arms campaign through the creation of striking, yet humanistic campaign materials.

By incorporating “organic” blood splatters, naturalistic paper stock and textures, and iconic imagery that most are familiar with, my proposed campaign offers the viewer the afore mentioned sense of responsibility and actuality of the issue. During concept development, I observed the strong, successful use of facts, statistics, and foreboding messages.

I adapted this technique to create a series of three 13”x19” posters. From these posters, additional campaign materials were derived. Three flyers containing detailed information about the campaign and a call to action form serve to help people campaign to their local members of government for the establishment of Control Arms’ Arms Trade Treaty. Three post cards containing the same imagery from the posters were also developed, using strict USPS formatting guidelines to streamline the production process and avoid any logistical problems.

Finally, three advertisements were created, to propose a strategic magazine campaign in Time, The New Yorker, and National Geographic magazines. While these ads are not only directly addressing my target audience of socially-aware individuals in the carefully selected publications, they also demonstrate the versatility and compatibility of the new campaign imagery to any media format.
